The first-5-branch waterworks formal opening marks to achieve water quality standard to customers.
The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) reinforces the confidence in the quality of tap water for customers with ISO 24512:2007 to guarantee the international quality standard and services of drinking water, which is the first-5 flagship waterworks in THAILANDhave been certified for, namely, SamutSakhon branch, Hat Yai branch, Chiang Mai branch, Ban Chang branch, and UdonThani branch.
Mr. Somboon Sunantapongsak, PWA Governor revealed that "These ISO standards will play a primary role in promoting access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation through improved governance at all levels. That is our mission and responsibilities to provide clean, safe and affordable drinking water for people across the country over the past 43 years"
"And it is also one of the main goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Therefore, it is determined to enhance the quality of life of customers and people in the production of clean and safe tap water delivered to every household in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) standard, along with adopting the ISO 24512:2007 standard, management guidelines and Drinking water service according to international principles is used to increase customer confidence.", he emphasized.
Recently, all 5 waterworks have been officially certified ISO 24512:2007, which is a standard developed for the evaluation and improvement of water utility services, as well as providing advice on the management of water utilities in order to meet the specified goals. The scope of operations according to ISO 24512:2007 covered every step of the value chain.
This International Standard, ISO24512:2007 are consistent with the principle of the "plan-do-check-act" (PDCA) approach: they propose a step-by-step process, from identifying the components and defining the objectives of the utility to establishing performance indicators, with a loop back to the objectives and to the management, after having assessed the performances.The standard is also covered Multi-barrier approach to reduce risks to water safety Principles of clean and safe tap water (Water Safety) and principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), which are production standards that contain measures to prevent harm that consumers may receive from food consumption, which is included in this standard as well.
Besides, the ISO 24512:2007 also deliver a go-beyond the customer serviceexpectations and the extraordinary global disruption offers a unique opportunity to use the framework and get the world on track to deliver SDG for community and environmental protection under the concept ofthe efficient use of scarce resources leads to an increase in: productivity, namely, asset management, customer relationship management, information management environmental management, and risk management so as to help agencies develop stronger, more robust performance measurement and reporting capabilities.
